I used these lights to illuminate the interior of a solid wood garden shed. I'm installing solar panels and a large lithium battery to make the shed entirely "off-grid", with a 12-volt electrical system. The pack of four lights was perfect for the size and layout of my 8' x 12' shed. The four lights together put out plenty of light for my application - as much illumination as you'd expect in a normally well-lit room. They used a bit more power than I'd hoped - almost exactly 1/2 amp apiece, for a total of 2 amps - but that's totally reasonable for the amount of light they're producing, and they'll only be on when I'm actively working in the space, so that's still well within the power budget I allocated. It turns out that, although not mentioned in the description (just in the caption of one picture), each light also has a built-in switch; I suspect this may be the reason that some other reviewers had some lights that apparently weren't working. It's a tiny push-button on the end of the fixture opposite where the wires come out. Since my lights are mounted on the roof (unreachable without a ladder), I made sure the switches were all on and installed a wall switch to turn them all on and off. There were a variety of mounting methods provided with the lights. First, there are small holes in the end caps of each light, which you could use with small wood or sheet-metal screws to secure the light to a surface. This should work pretty well, but you'd need quite small screws - probably #2 or so. There are also 8 clips provided, two for each light, as well as sheet-metal screws to mount the clips to a surface. This is the method I used, although I used my own screws because the provided ones are very short, only about 1/4". Once the clips are mounted, the lights easily clip into them, and are held in place quite securely. They can also be removed easily by just popping them out of the clips, but I can't think of why you'd ever need to.OK, those were the practical mounting methods; the lights came with two other options. The first is small double-sided mounting squares, two provided per light. They're quire small, about 1/2" square, and I can't imagine them holding the lights to any normal surface very securely, or for very long. I tossed them into my junk drawer for some other use in the future. The final option is a set of 8 tiny magnets, with threaded holes in the centers; small machine screws are also provided that fit the threaded holes. Each magnet also has a tiny disk, about 1/4" in diameter, that fits into a recess on the side of the magnet opposite the screw. I guess the idea is that you'd mount the magnets on a flat sheet-metal surface with the little screws (only about 1/4" long) via through-holes in the sheet metal. Then, you'd stick the little disks to the (aluminum) light housings (using the double-sided mounting tape above?), and then the magnets would hold up the lights. The magnets seemed far too feeble for this to work in any but the most ideal situation, and I couldn't think of a practical application anyway - certainly not mine. The magnets became more fodder for my junk drawer. In summary, these lights were exactly what I needed to brightly illuminate my shed, and they work very well for that purpose; they're also a good value at only $4 apiece. The switch is also a nice bonus, although it's of no use to me. The mounting methods are sufficient, but the extra ones (the mounting tape, and those idiotic magnets) could have been skipped, possibly reducing the price another buck or so.
