I put these up yesterday evening after letting them charge several hours in direct sunlight. 2 sets to span my entire back yard fence line. They came on around 7 pm or so, and I expected them to go out after a couple of hours like all my other solar lights have and do. However, they were just at pretty this morning at 5 am, and stayed on strong until about 7 am when it was the sun was strong enough to trigger the light sensor to turn them off. These photos are from this morning, when I was able to sit outside and enjoy my morning coffee in my beautifully lit yard. They're bright enough to see and be pretty, but not so bright as to bother the neighbors in any way. I love these, I'm going to get some more to give as gifts.I love the color on these, not overly bright and lovely on a porch or tree.One issue though...and not a small one... If you press the on/off button to "ON" and then choose one of the many settings, it will not remember that setting after a cycle. How do I know this? Because I was in the workshop when my husband yelled down, "Why is there a disco light show on the porch?"Sure enough, these lights were having a party. I had left them "ON" from the day before, made sure the solar panel would get the most light during the day to charge, and selected the solid light setting. I never touched it again. Every night it was a different setting. This happened with both sets in the box.It would not be a big deal, but it means that I have to turn the lights on and off every day, and I really wanted it to be a passive situation. Even with direct plug lights, you can put them on a timer.Every now and again, they will change mode mid-cycle, sometimes even cycling through all of the options. I can't use these on the porch because of this. Instead, they will nestle in a tree in the yard. Maybe the two sets will coordinate a dance party.I bought these lights for our backyard. I wrapped the light strings around a tree in the back yard and put the small solar panels where they are in full sun all day.A year later, these light have been working like a charm.They lasted through the rainy season (2 months in CA) and are still working beautifully.I used them inside of the skulls and they look AWESOME! The more they charged, the better they look!These are fun lights. Multiple light settings, flashing, strobe, fade, solid. One down side, whatever light setting you choose it doesn’t hold it. Every time the sun comes out the next day it resets the lights to a different setting so you have to switch it back. Slightly annoying so I have to leave them off, I hate the strobe setting, unless I am actually out there.These lights are not soft white, they are yellow! They are nice and long to fit all the way around my RV. I will buy these again in a diffrent color. Probably bright white and red.These are truly awesome lights. We will be buying more of these. They are bright, great choices of light combos. We love themMy kids put these lights up for me for Mother’s Day around our backyard where we have our pool and Gazebos. I like that you get a lot of them and that they are solar powered. They aren’t overly bright- which is ok with me. The only real issue I have is the way they turn on was confusing- the sun has to be down or they won’t come on- which first made me think they weren’t working, Also, can’t figure out how to get them to no cycle through every setting.
