These are good quality solar torches that look and operate just like the more expensive brand name products (can’t tell the difference side-by-side). Had them for a week and it’s rained quite a bit and they are holding up just fine! They worked so well I am ordering 4 more (as back ups when the older name brand torches wear out).They look nice and look sturdy (but I'll be returning them so I can't speak to longevity). If you simply want these for their look or walkway they'll look nice.But first off don't be fooled by the 43" height specified because that's from the top to the tip of the spike. But the spike is 7" so if you stick it in the ground the height is only 36".As for the brightness they're pretty to look at but don't expect to see much even up close. In a pitch dark room the light extends to 3-5' but it's faint at 3' and barely noticeable at 5' so outdoors at night don't expect much coverage if any. You won't be able to sit and talk to someone and see them clearly if this is what you're looking for. Maybe with 8 or more in a cluster you'll get some coverage but that's not what I wanted. But at 35 lumens I guess I should have known better even though one review said they were "by far the brightest and very natural light" they bought so far. Not in my opinion.Our family is in love with tiki torches but we go through fuel in no time. We needed an economical solution without sacrificing the look of a flame we love. These dancing flames are exactly the flame effect we were looking for.Yes they are plastic. During the winter they will be stored. Overall not bad for the price.
