I thought they were timer lights they didn't work for want I wanted. But they were a good buy and nice lghts.Worked fine.I have not installed these lights yet but planning to use them for Christmas decorations. Installation is super easy and functions very well. Basically, it doesn't matter how and where you plan to put this. It gives a great look at the decor and you don't have to worry about the power supply as this runs on 3 AA batteries.My 2 cents below :Pros:- Strings are well built and the lights look very good- These use small string LEDs and so they don't require more power to run- AA batteries powered so no need to worry about connecting to AC power- Well priced for such a long LED string- These are led strings so their brightness is less but it's made for this mellow functionality. Just FYI for folks who are interested in high brightnessCons:- No modes to control the lighting effect- No remote controls for these lightsI used these with garlands in a bathroom over the vanity and they looked so pretty! They were more blue than white, but it didn't matter in there as they were the only lights. The on/off switch made them easy to use. I know we'll be using these again.This set of White Star lights is cute. It was a little tedious to untangle and get set up, but they are cute. One star keeps falling off the string. Nice that they are battery operated. A cute addition to my holiday decor.This is a very bright set of lights. I love the shape of them. I have mine on a flocked snow tree, and they give the look of snowflakes on the tree. They take batteries and have a battery box that would need to be sitting near them.
