Great camping lantern, very bright, compact, and very high build quality, very similar in form factor to others on the market. Has 3 ways to charge, USB cable, solar and a hand crank, you are guaranteed to always have a source light for camping or emergencies, also you can charge other electronics with it like your phone, other similar lanterns with option to charge your phone cost $50 or more. It is splash resistant but wouldn't leave it charging outside.The lantern comes with rechargeable batteries - which were charged when I got it. It can also be charged via solar panels (built in) or a hand-crank. Because the batteries were already charged, I have not had time to wear them out enough to test the alternative power sources. If I get the lantern uncharged, I will try to update the review.The lantern pops out at multiple heights to control the amount of light. To test it out, I went into a completely dark room and opened it all the way. The first thing I noticed was looking right at the light (not recommended for any length of time) I was not blinded. Which is good, you need to be able to see while holding it potentially at eye height.I attempted to read and it gave enough light - fully opened - to read by. Though you do have to be relatively close to the lantern. I'd say, no more than 2 feet away.For walking around, it provided enough light to see where you were going. This is excellent for a power outage where flickering candles are annoying and difficult to read by.The lantern also has a flashlight at the bottom where you can press a button to turn it on without opening the lantern. It was about as strong as a pocket LED flashlight.The lantern is smaller than you think when you see the word lantern. When closed, it's about the size of a coffee mug.For a home emergency (like a power outage), this is excellent, though you'll want more than one if it is not just a single person. For camping, it is small and lightweight and gives enough light to walk with - but I would not replace a powerful flashlight with it. You're not going to light up distances, just your local area.This Camping Lantern is lightweight, easy to turn on, and even converts between a flashlight and a lantern. It is easy to use and even comes with a handle that allows you to hand it inside your tent or on your campground so you can clean up late at night. I would recommend this camping lantern to anyone looking for a battery-powered lantern.These provide enough light for use in a tent, or on a picnic table, to ready by. You can charge these three ways: 1.) by the USB cable, 2.) by the solar panel on top, or 3.) by the crank on the bottom of the unit. These might be good in a survival situation since you may not have access to power to charge through the USB port.The description says it's no bigger than a phone. That is true only in two dimensions. It is as deep as it is wide.These lanterns are great to have on hand for emergency use. I love that there are three ways to charge them: solar, usb, or hand crank. They work well and put out a really good amount of light. Just what I was looking for.
